Wishing for snow

Today has been a little crazy with the weather...I know I should be in bed because it's already 11:30 but I wanted to let people know about praying for Bradie Cook. I also am just a little excited about the possibility of some winter weather FINALLY! I love the cold & snow, but I'll take a nice little ice storm if that's all I can get here. We were thrilled to find out that we get to start 2 hours late tomorrow! That means I don't have to wake up at 5:25 AM!!! Maybe I'll get up early enough to get some chores done around the house. :)

We finished our Ladies Bible Study last night...we did Beth Moore's Psalms of Ascent. It was excellent and so convicting! One of the main things that I learned was how we are on a journey through this life, so everything is temporary. I CAN survive because God will be with me every step of the way. She continually challenged us to keep climbing closer to Jesus. I'm going to try to make a great effort to keep applying the principles she taught us instead of just learning them and not making them a permanent part of my life.

I'll leave you with another cute picture of my boys. Well, it's at the top of this post because I can't figure out how to put it at the bottom...anyone want to tutor me? Last time I tried to move the picture, everything I typed got underlined...go figure! Oh well..I'll keep trying. :)

Prayers for Bradie

Please pray for Bradie Cook, 4 month old daughter of Brad & Ashlie Cook. She is having surgery tomorrow at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She was born almost 4 months early, weighing only 11 oz. Her miraculous story is on the Caring Bridge website at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/bradiecook.

I had Brad & Ashlie in PALS and in Algebra 2 at Redwater High School. They are such a sweet, godly, young couple (she's only 23 and he's around 27). It's amazing that they are having to go through all of this but they seem to be really strong. They would really appreciate your prayers for this difficult journey! They currently live in Whitehouse (close to Tyler) where Brad is a coach.

Thank you for praying.

Avoiding Homework

OK, so I'm going to try to learn how to join this crazy blogging! :) I don't know how to make everything pretty like everyone else's pages and I don't really have time to work on it much...but I'll try. :) I need to be grading Calculus tests, but I decided to look at Flo's new baby because she said she had pictures and then I saw that I actually had TWO comments on my pics that I uploaded last night so I thought I'd waste a little more time before those tests get graded. :)
Although this has been a short week at school, it seems SO LONG! With Ethan having strep throat and having to go to the doctor in Tyler on Monday, I really didn't get to enjoy my day off. I always feel so behind at school, but I am adjusting more and more as each day passes. And I'm learning SO much Calculus that it amazes me! I told some of my students today as I was helping them review for their test that I really understand these concepts better than anything we've learned so far. They asked me if I was learning right along with them, and I said, "No, I'm about 2-3 hours ahead of you!" :) I am glad that I'm getting the opportunity to teach Calculus after 15 years of teaching--I get the brightest children that actually want to learn! It's fun to work with them (most of the time). I have had to issue a NEGATIVITY and WHINING BAN in my class the last few weeks--the senioritis is already setting in!
I must get to my homework now but I promise to try to work on this blog this weekend! I'll leave you with a few more cute pictures of my family...
Ethan got to make "popcorn snow angels" at daycare the other day! He had a blast doing that! He's also addicted to watching Elmo in Grouchland on our bed. Evan is just addicted to Legos & Nintendo DS now.

My Cute Boys

My Memory Verse

"I lift up my eyes to the hills--where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip--He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." Psalm 121:1-4
