20 Days 'Til 40
I'm slowly getting "my mind in the game" about my diet and exercise. I know that nothing happens by accident and that God orchestrates the timing of everything that happens in our lives. So it's no "coincidence" that I felt compelled at the very last minute to participate in our women's Monday Night Bible study that started a few weeks ago.
It's called "When Wallflowers Dance" by Angela Thomas. I've done her study called "A Beautiful Offering" a few years ago and remembered how I enjoyed the lessons & videos and knew it would not be too time consuming for this busy month. Although the lessons are short, they were very powerful and convicting...the same is true so far in this study.
The whole point of the study is for us to "grow up in our salvation" (1 Peter 2:2) and to grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus. A few weeks ago, she taught us how we needed to RESTORE ORDER to our bodies...OUCH!!!!!! So convicting! She talked about how we really can't focus on drawing closer to Christ and maturing spiritually until we get our minds & bodies on track. She said, "If the foundational structure of your life is in chaos and disrepair, we have nowhere to build."
Then, I read 2 Timothy 1:7..."God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline!" I just need to choose to live with that power of self-discipline every day!
So...I've been trying to eat better and exercise. We have walked almost every day this week and we've been eating more fruits and vegetables. I have a long way to go but maybe by my birthday, I will have my mind totally focused & determined to see this work to completion!
Good job Kim! I am rally enjoying this study too! I went and got the DVD with the videos I missed. Praying for you on this journey!:)

ReplyDeletein the simplicity of our Salvation as well, and just take one day at a time on the other. Do not bring condemnation on yourself. I Love You just as you are!!
